Safety

Safety is everyone's concern. Accidents can and may happen. Before working in the shop all students must pass all parts of the safety curriculum comprising of online tutorials, teacher directed instruction and testing.

Students are to wear safety glasses in shop settings. As we will be in the shop almost every day, students need to keep a pair of safety glasses in their locker at Ed Tech.

Students are to wear leather work shoes or boots, long pants (WITH NO HOLES!) and a sleeved shirt. You should look as presentable as going to work.

All students will complete and pass the Heavy-Duty and Diesel Technology Safety and Pollution Prevention online programs found at SP2.org .
All students will receive training on specific equipment in the shop as well as emergency information such as fire extinguisher, first aid and emergency stop switch locations. Testing must be passed.
